Why are Kitsap County farmers markets so important?

One of the main benefits of shopping at your local market is the access to fresh, seasonal produce. Unlike grocery stores, where produce is often shipped from far away (and may have been sitting on shelves for weeks), farmers markets offer fruits and vegetables that are picked at the peak of freshness. This means they not only taste better, but they’re also more nutritious.

Shopping at your local Kitsap County farmers market is more than just a way to stock up on fresh produce and other goods. It’s a great opportunity to support your community!

  • Provide access to quality food access for low-income families
  • Support local businesses
  • Create a fun and unique community shopping experience
  • Preserve crucial farmland
  • Encourage sustainable growing methods
  • Reduce the carbon footprint associated with large-scale agriculture
  • Offer educational information and networking opportunities to the community.

Our farmers markets tend to be open in rain or shine. Don’t miss the chance to meet your local farmers and business owners, and support their livelihoods. You can ask questions, sample products, and get expert input. Each week, there are a variety of new or different vendors and activities. Bring your family, friends, and pets along — you won’t be disappointed!
