Viking Fest is an annual celebration held in Poulsbo, Washington that honors the Scandinavian heritage of the area. Viking Fest takes place the 3rd weekend of May, coinciding with the Norwegian Independence Celebration Syttende Mai.
At Viking Fest, you can expect to enjoy a wide range of festivities, including a parade, Nordic dances, carnival rides, food stands and craft vendors, live music and dance performances, and a variety of cultural exhibits and demonstrations.
The festival also includes traditional Viking activities such as the raising of a Nordic-style maypole, mock battles, strong-man competitions, and axe-throwing contests. There are options for everyone, including a pancake breakfast, road race, kids dash, brew fest, and bike ride.
